Sheryl said she got a lot of love after the heated exchange on March 10th.
“I want people to know. I believe God told me, ‘I have a plan for you. I’m about to pour a blessing on you. I just need to know, are you ready?'” Said they. and added, “… and I just wanted to be a better example of people who have a normal old job [have] get together. We are the only race of people who take the race everywhere and we are responsible for it and I want to thank everyone around the world on social media, everyone on the radio, television, news, and everyone who got in touch . “
Sheryl isn’t the only one commenting on the show’s incident. On March 12th, Sharon apologized for the way she handled things. She said: “She panicked, felt blind, became defensive” and allowed her “fear and horror of being accused of being racist”.
Sharon spoke to Variety later that day and said she felt “blind to the whole situation”.
“I blame the network for that,” she told the outlet. “This was the first time in my eleven years that I was not involved in planning the segment. I was just so hurt, unprepared and stunned by what I was asked and not prepared.”
She added, “I was honestly shocked. I felt like I was in front of a firing squad. I felt like a lamb outstretched to be slaughtered … They had me there for 20 minutes.”
