Lynne spears responds to Jamie Spears‘latest legal measure.

In one of E! News from August 12th Britney Spears“Father said he was ready to step down as curator of the singer’s estate.

“Mr. Spears stands ready to step down when the time is right,” the filing states, “but the transition must be orderly and include a settlement of matters pending before the court.”

Jamie and his legal team stated in court documents that they intend to “work with the court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator.” Jamie’s attorney added that his client “does not believe that a public dispute with his daughter over his continued service as a restorer would be in her best interests.”

The matter is expected to be discussed and possibly closed during a trial on September 29th.

Shortly after the news broke, Britney’s mother responded to the filing in a statement through her attorney. “Lynne Spears is pleased that Jamie has agreed to resign,” her attorney said Gladstone N Jones, III said in a statement to E! News. “Lynne entered this conservatory almost 3 years ago to protect her daughter. She has achieved what she set out to do.
