Here at E! News, the red carpet is our bread and butter. So it’s no understatement when we declare the 2001 MTV Movie Awards a standout contender for the Best Early Aughts red carpet.
Well into the golden age of MTV, the ceremony jointly hosted by Jimmy Fallon and Kirsten Dunstdrew a constellation of A-list stars from film, television and music. You couldn’t just find blockbuster giants like that Tom Cruise and John Travolta Elbows rub with people like Gwen Stefani and Carmen electra, but the icons behind Moulin Rouge! ‘s remake of “Lady Marmalade” blessed the audience with one of their only joint live appearances.
(Trust us, a new watch is worth it – if only for Christina Aguilera‘s incredible range as she makes her grand entrance.)
