Over the past year, Vanessa honored her husband and daughter on several special occasions. However, a little over a week ago, she took a moment to review how she dealt with her loss.
“Let me be real,” she shared on Instagram Stories on January 15. “Grief is a messed up collection of emotions. One day you are laughing right now and the next day you don’t feel like being alive anymore.”
The proud mother said she wanted to speak up to help others do the same.
“I want to say this for people struggling with grief and heartbreaking loss. Find your reason for living,” she encouraged. “I know it’s hard. I look at my daughters and try to get them to feel that way. Death is guaranteed, but not living the rest of the day. Find your reason.”
Vanessa’s 18-year-old daughter Natalia expressed a similar message a month earlier, saying, “I didn’t want to do this but thought it was important to share because you never know when someone will have problems of their own.” “
“I really think it’s so important to find a close circle of people you can trust and let them know how you feel when you’re down or not feeling like yourself,” she added. “It’s also a lot easier said than done, but all I know is that you are never alone. I learned that this year and I still work with the help of close family members and friends.”
