Tiger Woods gave fans a health update just two days before his hospitalization.
The professional golfer was rushed to hospital in an ambulance on Tuesday, February 23, after being injured in a single car accident near Rolling Hills Estate and Rancho Palos Verdes, California. His agent Mark Steinberg told NBC News that he had suffered multiple leg injuries and was undergoing surgery.
Over the weekend, Woods was tournament organizer of the 2021 Genesis Invitational at Riviera Golf Course, where he spoke about how he was feeling after his fifth back surgery in December.
“I’m fine,” Woods said to Sportscaster Jim Nantz on Sunday February 21. “I’m a little stiff.”
He said he had another MRI scheduled to see if his annulus fibrosus was scarred. “Then I can do more activities,” said the 45-year-old athlete. “But still in the gym, still the everyday things you have to do for rehab, you know, the little things, before I can start getting into anything more.”
