On Friday May 7th, PBS ‘Masterpiece announced this star Theo James I won’t be returning to Sanditon in seasons two and three. Earlier this week fans were shocked to learn that the British period drama was based on the Jane AustenThe unfinished novel of the same name was canceled in 2019 after PBS placed a surprising order for two seasons.
In the unexpected announcement, the network confirmed this Sanditon leading lady Rose Williams will return to her Charlotte Heywood role. At the time, it was unclear whether Theo would be involved in the new seasons.
And sadly, he’s since confirmed on social media that his time at Sanditon has come to an end. “While I enjoyed playing Sidney, I’ve always maintained that his journey ended the way I wanted it to,” the dissident actor said in a statement. “The broken fairytale ending between Charlotte and Sidney is different, unique and so interesting to me, and I wish the Sanditon cast and crew continued success with future series.”
