Sure, the music on MTV is missing, but what about the reality shows?

While the cable network is still home to more than a few popular series like Teen Mom, The Hills, and Siesta Key, some pop culture fans can’t help but remember programs they grew up with in the early 2000s are.

This week, as skateboarding made its debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, we could only wish for it Ryan sheckler competed – and made headlines for stealing gold. But as it turns out, the professional skateboarder has held back since his MTV reality show Life of Ryan in 2008, and has only recently stepped back into the spotlight to discuss how the series has encroached upon his relationships.

“This is already a very intimate piece of your life that you don’t want people to know or see,” he said on In Depth With Graham Bensinger in May. “Well, we split up once and then the cameras are on, we split up again, cut off. Now the mood is really embarrassing. And then they come up to me and say, ‘Hey, that’s it’ not enough. We have to do it all over again. ‘”
