The Tokyo 2020 Olympics are just around the corner, but Team USA is taking a much-needed break to play with the adorable pups at the Paw Works animal rescue center. After all, these athletes have been training in their respective sports since well before 2020, when the Olympic Games were originally planned.

At this point, the Summer Games are known to have been postponed a year later than usual because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but it is worth repeating in case anyone was living under a rock.

surfer Kolohe Andinorunner Allyson Felix and gymnast Suni Lee were among 13 athletes who had the privilege of meeting these pooches for the nonprofit to adopt. In the pictures, the world’s best competitors posed with the puppies, who happened to represent Team USA in the most adorable jerseys and bandanas.
