It’s that time again: the competition is heating up … and no, we’re not talking about the Super Bowl.

Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XVII returns this Sunday, February 7th, and the cutest pups will go from paw to paw to battle it out for the three-hour special event.

This year, ESPN’s Play-by-Play announcers join Monday Night Football as Puppy Bowl XVII announcers Steve Levy and SportsCenter Host Sage Steele, Who will be doing puppy analysis during the game?

The pre-game show kicks off at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT, when longtime Puppy Bowl sports correspondents Rodt Weiler, James Hound, Sheena Inu, Brittany Spaniel, and Herman Shepard provide the crowd with glimpses of furry matchups before the big game will.

This year, 22 shelters and rescue workers from nine northeastern states will bring out 70 incredibly adoptable puppy players for the event to show off their opposing bandana colors. The puppies are split between #TeamRuff in “Tail Mary Tangerine” and #TeamFluff with “Bark Blue”. The two teams play against each other in the brand new GEICO stadium and win the CHEWY trophy “Lombarky”.
