A throwback photo of Elizabeth and Philip was posted on their main account on Saturday. Famous photographer Annie Leibovitz took the portrait commissioned on the occasion of Elizabeth’s 90th birthday and published on June 10, 2016, the 95th birthday of Philip.
The post contained a quote from the Queen as part of a tribute to her husband on their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997. The two had been married for 73 years when he died.
