Theaters closed and productions stopped last year, but as they say in Hollywood the show has to go on.

On Sunday, April 25th, the 2021 Oscars took place, not just one but two months after they originally started, and yes, things looked a little different than usual.

Instead of rolling out the red carpet exclusively at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, where the ceremony has been held since 2002, the academy also took over the historic Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.

In addition, globally distributed satellite hubs enabled the internationally stationed nominees to take part in the ceremony.

And the 93rd Academy Awards weren’t just significant because of the new venues. Spectators saw Chloe Zhao, Yuh-Jung Youn, Mia Neal, Jamika Wilson and more stars write history in their respective categories and invite you to party on social media.

In other words, it was the perfect end to the 2021 awards season.
