The motorcycle racing community is in mourning after losing one of their own far too young.

Spanish motorcyclist Hugo Millán died on Sunday, July 25, at the age of 14 from injuries sustained after falling from his vehicle during the Hawkers European Talent Cup that day, the race organizers confirmed in a statement. The event took place at the MotorLand Aragón Circuit in Alcañiz, Spain.

“We are deeply sad to announce that Hugo Millán succumbed to his injuries after falling in the HETC race,” said race organizer FIM CEV Repsol in a message posted on Twitter along with a photo of the teenager. “We send all of our love and support to his family, team and loved ones. We will miss you Hugo.”

According to the Associated Press, the accident happened on the second lap of the event after Hugo’s motorcycle crashed and he was hit by another rider while trying to avoid the race. The other competitors were not seriously injured in the collision.
