Mariah Carey‘s sister Alison Carey sued the singer for $ 1.25 million, alleging she deliberately caused her “emotional distress” and “public humiliation,” according to E! News.

In the lawsuit, Alison claims she suffered “terrible abuse” when Mariah wrote about their alleged strained relationship in her memoir “The Meaning of Mariah”.

The February 1 lawsuit alleges that Alison was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression based on the memoir published in September 2020.

She questions a chapter titled “Dandelion Tea,” which describes an alleged incident from decades ago when Alison was 20 and Mariah was 12.

The singer of “Always Be My Baby” wrote in the book, “My sister drugged me with Valium, offered me a small nail full of cocaine, inflicted third degree burns on me and tried to sell me to a pimp.” Mariah claimed, “Something inside of me has been stuck with all this trauma. That’s why I often say, ‘I’m forever twelve.’ I’m still struggling through this time. ”
