“Grey’s Anatomy”: Sarah Drew teases Dr. April Kepner’s return
Grey’s Anatomy says goodbye to another beloved character.
It is revealed in the latest episode titled “Look Up Child” Jesse Williams changes from his role as Dr. Jackson Avery.
Grey’s Anatomy Executive Producer and Showrunner Krista Vernoff said in a statement to E! News: “Jesse Williams is an extraordinary artist and activist. Watching his development both on and off screen over the past 11 years has been a real gift.”
“Jesse brings so much heart, so much care and so much intelligence into his work,” continued Krista. “We will miss Jesse terribly and we will miss Jackson Avery – played perfectly for so many years.”
Jesse is the newest actor to leave Grey’s Anatomy. This season saw Giacomo GiannottiAndrew DeLuca and Meredith Grey’s (Ellen Pompeo) Friend, die after being stabbed to death by an attempted kidnapper in the Crossover episode of Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy.
Last January was also the departure of Justin ChambersAlex Karev. At the time, Justin said he would be leaving the show after 16 seasons to “diversify my acting roles and career choices.”
