While Garner has since taken action against this treatment, her children continue to grow up, making it harder to keep them safe from the headlines. Instead, they face them face-to-face. “When they were smaller and there were things out there that were shocking, my plea to them was always, ‘Let Dad and I talk you through whatever it is,'” she revealed. “I would tell you, ‘If you see a picture on the front of a magazine, I’ll look at it with you and deal with any frightening feelings that come together.'”

While public interest in the family persists over time, some things have changed for the better. In 2016, Garner told Vanity Fair, “Sure, I lost the dream of dancing with my husband at my daughter’s wedding.” Five years later, that concern has resolved.

“If our kids get married we will dance, I know that now,” she told THR. “We’re going to have boogaloo and a great time. I don’t worry about that anymore.”
