Jane Fonda is the greatest, even if it has an epic flaw.

During the 2021 Golden Globes, the monster-in-law attempted to use a Zoom conference call to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award but encountered some technical difficulties.

“Can you hear me?” The 83-year-old actress asked a five person screen before crying briefly. “I want to tell you how much I loved Small Ax, Lover’s Rock, the second is so great.”

When the phone waved to the camera setup, someone behind the camera notified the star: “You know you are not on this show? You cannot hear you.”

A distraught Fonda exclaimed, “No? Why?” While the people on the screen continued to talk to each other, the actress tried to get their attention.

Despite the struggle, Fonda accepted her prestigious award and delivered an ardent speech on diversity, a subject the actress has never shied away from.
