Sha’Carri Richardson returns to the track at one point for Kanye West‘s highly anticipated new music.
An ad for Beats by Dre that aired Tuesday, July 20 during game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals, featured a new Kanye song called “No Child Left Behind.” The ad showed slow motion footage of sprinter Sha’Carri preparing for a race, running, and then looking up at the sky.
“He worked miracles on me,” Kanye sang in the minute-long video.
The spot officially announced that the 44-year-old rapper’s tenth studio album, DONDA, would be released on Friday, July 23rd. This follows a live streaming event on Apple Music from Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday, July 22nd at 8 p.m. ET.
Sha’Carri made headlines earlier this month when she was not selected for the U.S. 4x100m relay ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, despite winning the 100m run in the June Olympics. The 21-year-old athlete was suspended for a month after testing positive for marijuana in violation of the World Anti-Doping Code 2021.
