Halsey gets real about the challenges they face in the industry trying to promote a new album while pregnant.
The 26-year-old singer released his fourth album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power on Friday, August 27th. To promote it, the star told Apple Music 1 Zane Lowe about losing media opportunities while expecting their first child, Enderwho is Halsey and screenwriter Alev Aydin welcomed on July 14th.
“There were releases that were like… you know, we went out and tried to do magazine covers based on the release of the album and they said, ‘Yeah, but is she getting pregnant? I don’t want to take out maternity insurance, “Halsey recalled.
“And I thought it wasn’t a maternity cover,” continued the Bad at Love singer. “It’s about my album – I happen to be pregnant. And they say, ‘No, it’s a pregnant cover.’ And I was like, ‘So I can’t talk about my album?’ “
