The new Gossip Girl series has just released its first trailer, and it’s clear that this version will deliver as much drama as the original.
On Wednesday June 9th, HBO Max released the first footage for its upcoming reboot of The CW’s popular teen drama, which went dark in December 2012 after six seasons. Viewers don’t have to wait long to see more as the premiere kicks off on Thursday, July 8th.
In fact, it seems a lot to love for fans of the original, as the trailer hints at a new love triangle apparently designed to keep up with the Chuck-Blair-Dan and Nate-Serena-Dan complications of yore. Suitable, Frank Ocean‘s “Super Rich Kids” plays at the end to add to the mood.
“She’s a stranger who found herself in your group of friends,” warns a character, “with your friend.”
There seems to be a lot of sexual tension on the menu as the trailer shows what appears to be a threesome, an unplanned kiss, and a pair of characters waking up in bed together.
