The 7-day average of daily Covid cases in the US is below 25,000 for the first time since June 19, data from Johns Hopkins University shows, as the pace of new infections continues to decline.
The country reports an average of 24,900 cases per day, a 22% decrease from the previous week.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the US has had an average of 1.8 million vaccinations per day over the past week, and approximately 49% of the US population has received at least one dose.

Almost 26,000 cases were reported on Monday, bringing the 7-day average of new infections every day to just under 25,000.
A CNBC analysis of the Hopkins data shows the average daily caseload in 41 states and the District of Columbia has decreased by at least 5% over the past week.

According to Hopkins data, the US has recorded an average of 570 Covid deaths per day over the past week.
The total number of reported Covid deaths in the US since the pandemic began is now more than 590,000.
US percentage of the vaccinated population
About 49% of the US population had at least one shot, according to the CDC, with more than 130 million Americans, or 39%, fully vaccinated.
Of people aged 18 and over, around 62% received at least one dose of the vaccine. President Joe Biden’s goal is to get that number to 70 percent by July 4th.
The White House announced Tuesday that half of adults in the US will be fully vaccinated by the end of the day.

CDC data shows that the 7-day average of vaccinations given in the US is 1.8 million per day for the past week, down about 3% from a week earlier.
The White House’s partnership with hail-fighting firms Uber and Lyft began on Monday. Through the partnership, users can enjoy free rides of up to $ 25 and $ 15, respectively, to and from vaccination sites.
