Chrissy Teigen felt like a plastic bag drifting in the wind after her last words Katy Perry were mistakenly interpreted incorrectly.

The 35-year-old model attended The Tonight Show on Tuesday March 9th where she told the host Jimmy Fallon that she had an “amazing” time supporting husband John Legend at the President’s inauguration in January 2021. John sang Nina Simone“Feeling Good” during the televised prime-time special.

Chrissy stated that at the end of the event she brought a supportive message to Katy who performed her song “Firework” during an epic fireworks display to round off the night’s festivities. However, the Lip Sync Battle co-host was immediately concerned that the American Idol judge was not hearing the exact wording of the compliment.

“I remember being so scared because we ran into Katy Perry after that and I always say stupid things,” Chrissy told Jimmy. “I always get so nervous and I say faux pas, and then I hadn’t seen Katy in a long time.”

She continued, “I said, ‘Oh, I usually hate fireworks, but that was amazing, that was beautiful.’ And then I think she heard me say I hate ‘fireworks’ like that song. “
