Where is the “dun dun” sound when you need it?
In an in-depth chat with Men’s Health posted on August 4th, Christopher Meloni Discussed re-entry into the popular franchise with Law & Order Organized Crime and revealed what really happened prior to his unexpected exit from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. For those in need of a refresher, Meloni played Detective Elliot Stabler on SVU for 12 seasons between 1999 and 2011.
The last time fans saw the maddened detective in season 12, Stabler struggled with the aftermath when he fatally shot and killed a young woman who had opened fire on the precinct. Then, in the season 13 premiere, his longtime partner Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), was taken by surprise by the news that Stabler had retired.
So we know what happened to Stabler, but what happened to Meloni? At the time, it was reported that Meloni had left the franchise due to a contractual dispute. The 60-year-old actor has now confirmed this and revealed that he had tried to find a creative compromise with NBC.
