Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s openly sit down with Oprah Winfrey affected many people, including many notable names.
Following the emotional CBS Tell-All that aired on Sunday March 7th, some celebrities took advantage of social media to share their thoughts with the royal family amid the couple’s ongoing drama.
One of these celebrities was the tennis legend Serena Williamswho posted a long message praising “Meghan Markle, my selfless friend” for showing what it means to be “really classy”.
The athlete continued, “I know firsthand that the institutions for sexism and racism and the media slander women and people of skin color in order to minimize us, to batter us and demonize us. We must recognize our obligation, malicious, unfounded Gossip and tabloid decipher journalism. The psychological consequences of systemic oppression and victimization are devastating, isolating, and all too often fatal. “
