The fatal shooting of Down Wright has sparked an outpouring of outrage and sadness, including from some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

On Sunday, April 11th, the 20-year-old black man died after being shot by a police officer during a traffic obstruction less than 10 miles from the place where he was tried Derek Chauvin was in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota Police Chief Tim Gannon later the officer who fired his weapon referred to an “accidental discharge”.

“As I watch the video and hear the officer’s orders,” Gannon said at a press conference, “I believe the officer intended to use his taser but instead shot Mr. Wright with a single bullet.” According to a press release published by the UEG on April 13, the official resigned with immediate effect.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner found he died of a gunshot wound to the chest and classified the nature of his death as murder, according to NBC News.
