The Bachelorette candidate Justin Glaze addresses the recent discussion of his re-surfaced tweets.

Given a Redditor who last week shared tweets Justin posted between 2009 and 2011 that contained homophobic and misogynistic remarks, the 27-year-old reality TV personality went to the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast to say he was up used for the words “ashamed and ashamed” as a teenager. Justin is currently competing for Bachelorette Katie Thurston‘s affection for the longstanding ABC dating series.

“I have no problem admitting the really hurtful words I used in 2009 and 2011 and apologizing from the bottom of my heart,” Justin told co-hosts Becca Kufrin and Tayshia Adams. “The last thing I want to do is run away from it.”

According to Justin, his younger self “felt the need to adjust” and he was hanging out with people who were “throwing around really hurtful insults that I didn’t really think about at the time.” The Investment Sales Consultant added that this situation is a “wake up call to let me know that I need to keep doing this work” as an ally for underrepresented groups.
