Later at Daily Pop, Ivan shared his own experiences with the franchise.
“If I let myself into that, I know what I mean is that the show is what white privilege is like in America,” he began. “For example, I’ve made it to the last three in my season, but I definitely have the fewest Instagram followers among many guys on my show, just because of the color of my skin, when comparatively speaking on paper, I pile up pretty good. “
Even so, Ivan said his time at The Bachelorette was “great”.
“The producers took care of me,” he explained. “You showed my BLM lecture. You showed my brother, who is a felon with tears. And you made my family and my history look amazing for America. So I’m very grateful to all of this.”
