After an emotional day with Greg’s family showing Katie photos of his late father, Greg decided to be honest with Katie that he had “lost part of me” when his father died.
“I didn’t know I was going to fall in love with you,” he continued. “I didn’t know that and I’m in love with you.
But Greg’s mood changed immediately after that moment. He didn’t seem to appreciate Katie’s response when she smiled and said, “I just love looking at you” and also told him he was going to get a rose, but gave no indication of her own feelings. Prior to this, during the episode, she had explained to families that she had decided not to reveal who she fell in love with until the last man.
Noticing Greg’s mood change, Katie said she could say he wasn’t “happy” right now, and they had a tense conversation as he escorted her to the car. “I just don’t understand why you don’t know … that at this point it’s me and you,” he told her. “I’ve never poured my heart out for someone like this.”
