The late one Anna Nicole Smithis the little girl Dannielynn Birkhead was all smiles when she and dad Larry Birkhead returned to Churchill Downs Racetrack to continue their annual father-daughter tradition of celebrating the Kentucky Derby in adorable attendant outfits a year after they missed the coronavirus pandemic celebrations.
The 14-year-old showed a different look this year and opted for a turquoise Jovani pant suit instead of a dress, paired with a matching fascinator for white flowers. On Friday, April 30, the day before the annual horse race, 48-year-old Larry shared photos of the two in their Kentucky Derby look from 2021 on his shared Instagram page.
“It’s that time again. The @kentuckyderby weekend is here!” Larry, wearing a turquoise shirt and plaid tie with a light suit, wrote in his post. “Although our favorite event, The Barnstable-Brown Party, won’t be back until next year, we decided to head to Churchill Downs Circuit on this beautiful day to prepare for the Kentucky Derby.”
He continued, “Dannielynn ‘done’ in her @jovanifashions pant suit and a beautiful white floral fascinator. She said she wanted to wear something very different from what she had in the past.
